I started The Buyosphere in 2005 after a 20 year career in broadcasting and marketing, and after one too many bad customer service experiences.
Before all of that, I was a poor student, and flunked out of college. I was a good writer and a great communicator - that is my gift. But I had no business training, no teaching background and didn't know how to run a company. All I wanted was to figure out how to motivate people who were in positions of customer engagement - convenience store clerks, the guy who answered the phone for the cable company, the woman who took my ticket at the movie theater. I wanted them to care. I wanted them to give a damn. I had a choice. Either solve the problem, or stop bitching about it.
I'm working on doing both. We can be both a masterpiece and a work in progress, (W)right?
The Buyosphere is a reflection of my beliefs and values. The company was born of my own pain, the struggles I faced, the problems I created and the solutions built in large part from the knowledge I gained from the brilliant people who God saw fit to bring into my life (including my amazing wife, Lorri, whose bio you will see somewhere around here, as our Director of Training). Also, I have never stopped asking questions, the most important of which is "Why?" Why do we feel the way we feel, think the way we think and do the things the way we do? These are questions I ask in training sessions every day. Because once we know why, the world opens up to us, giving us stunning clarity, and a tremendous opportunity to build the biggest, bestest, most kick-ass version of ourselves. I can't imagine a more noble cause, or more rewarding job.

I am on a mission to rid the world of the toxic work culture. My belief is that everyone should have a positive work experience. Too many people spend their days working in jobs that are not engaging and that do not fully maximize their potential. I believe this is not only fixable, but that it MUST be fixed - and accountability is the key to doing just that. That is why I have spent the better part of my career researching, developing, testing, and teaching accountability strategies.
In 2009, after 20 years in the field of education, I joined The Buyosphere. Since then I have been a part of developing and rolling out what I believe is the most comprehensive and most powerful training program in the country! I love working with people, teams, and companies to celebrate their strengths and develop their opportunities to be bigger, better, and more kick-ass!
I am a certified teacher and administrator and a certified DISC trainer. I develop and teach online courses, lead workshops, provide one-on-one training, and speak at various events.
To fulfill my duty as the Queen of Accountability, I will hold your feet to the fire and I will help you grow your own royal following!
Buyosphere Lead Consultant and Trainer
I grew up in Alaska, which turned out to be a great training ground for being a Buyosphere coach!
My training philosophy is guided in large part by my 25+ years in the automotive repair industry. I know what it is like to run a shop, work with the public, train employees, do the numbers. So when I work with automotive professionals, it is more a collaboration than a "teacher/student" relationship. I can certainly be tough if needed, and always fair.
I have the utmost respect for the people in our automotive industry. I know the time commitment it takes to be successful - the long hours, the sacrifices. So I am very empathetic with the people I train, teach and mentor. In the end, my role is to build them into the best versions of themselves. That is what makes this job so fulfilling, rewarding and fun!

I am a proud father, blessed husband and extremely honored to be a part of The Buyosphere Training Team!
I have been a driver of exceptional customer service in the automotive field for 30 years, and every day is an incredible blessing, as I get to bring my experience and knowledge to the training table and share it with our wonderful clients. I have a wide range of automobile knowledge including managing automobile repair shops, holding L1 and C1 ASE certification, running retail automotive parts stores, and mentoring automotive managers and service advisors to be their best.
My goal with each training session is to ensure that each person I work with gains at least one new tool, one new insight and one new way of looking at things. There is no greater feeling than to see them master our program and achieve the highest levels of success in the industry. You can’t say enough about the people we work with!
Buyosphere Director of Recruiting And Social Media
Family and friends are important to me, and I’m blessed to have both in my role with The Buyosphere team!
30 years in radio broadcasting and station management has provided me with “a particular set of skills”, and I’m enjoying using my marketing and management experience to find the best future superheroes for our clients and to increase engagement on their social media pages.
My goal with each applicant is to discover if they fit in each clients’ unique culture, that they are positive people, and will become an asset to our teams. My favorite moments are those when a client thanks me for finding that perfect fit!
Buyosphere Data Coordinator
I started with the Buyosphere in 2013 after a long career in retail, 30 years plus. When I was in retail, I was always left wondering what could we have done better to make the customer experience a better one.
I have found my position as Data Coordinator with the Buyosphere tailor made to my individual strengths and abilities. I've always considered myself a numbers guy. I'm the guy you'll see at a baseball game keeping a scorecard ! I guess I just enjoy numbers and statistics. This position gives me the opportunity to give our Buyosphere trainers the "best pitch to hit" by digging a little deeper to provide them with the best possible training calls. Those calls are their tools, and I know that providing them with the best possible tools will help them build the best possible results as they work with our clients.
My input with the coaches leaves me feeling most rewarded when the people we work with, "get it," and embrace the programs being implemented. The improvement is usually amazing! It's rewarding to find what you're doing actually makes a difference!
Buyosphere Data Collection
I am a lifelong resident of central Iowa – Go Cyclones! I have 2 grown daughters – one living locally and one in New York City.
I have an engineering degree from Iowa State and worked in the construction industry for over 30 years. I try to use my engineering background to find a more efficient way to do any job, including this one!
I have worked as a Data Collector for The Buyosphere for 2½ years. It is always my goal to find the best calls for our Buyosphere trainers to use in their training sessions. An added bonus to my job is that I know more about cars that I used to - just enough to be dangerous!
