We are driven to be right. It is a part of our human survival instinct. There is also massive pressure to "win" the moment, applied primarily via the competitive nature of social media.

That compelling human need can drive us into an emotional fog that prevents us from seeing things with clarity.

Perspective can help.

I can tell you right now that I've been wrong a thousand times since breakfast, and so have you. Somehow, we've survived.

Don't worry about being right. Focus instead on being accurate. Accuracy helps ensure that we achieve the best outcome, because it is based on the real problem, not one born of emotional confusion.

In other words, by making it okay to be wrong, you will be right more often than not.

Am I (W)right or am I (W)right?
